The outputs of the SPI Platform are specific and “actionable” reform proposals that improve financial intermediation efficiency (“financial modernization”) through mitigation of the following inefficiencies: 1) Asymmetry of Information; 2) Incompleteness of Markets; 3) Contractual Impediments to Engage in Financial Transactions; 4) High Transaction Costs, and 5) Lack of Competition.
